Nitrodi: the miraculous waters inhabited by nymphs

Sacred to the Romans that attended and considered divine waters of hot springs Nitrodi are famous for their extraordinary healing powers. In Buonopane, in the municipality of Forio, in a small valley, sheltered by two green hills, for over two thousand years islanders and travelers from around the world have sought a remedy for ailments that no medicine can cure. But it is a miracle, the effect it has on most various skin diseases, is  the result of a path of rainwater Ischia in the bowels of the earth, which in this area are particularly rich in minerals.. So this source of Nitrodi, which for so many bubbling  generously, is the most famous and studied thermal spring in Campania, and  also good to drink! It heals wounds, caustic burns, eliminates seborrhea of the scalp, is good for psoriasis and many other skin diseases considered "difficult", has an immediate aesthetic, making the skin shiny and silky hair, and about the hair: at the Archaeological Museum at Villa Arbusto Pithecoussai in Lacco Ameno, houses a votive relief of a Roman woman "Capellini" who thanked the nymphs for Nitrodi upon recovery from an illness that was taking away the foliage, one of the oldest evidence of a long history of healing at the source of the Nymphs Nitrodi
